Preventative Care for Cats

Wrentham Animal Hospital provides a wide range of preventative care to help your cat live a long and healthy life. Routine examinations and annual blood work can be helpful in detecting many health concerns early and therefore improve and extend the lifespan of our feline friends.

Annual preventive care for cats includes:

  • Annual physical examination where our veterinarians will examine your cat's mouth, eyes, ears, skin, heart, lungs, weight and musculature and abdomen. We will also take a thorough medical history, discuss nutrition, behavior and any medical concerns or recommendation

  • Vaccinations such as Rabies and Distemper (FVRCP). Also, feline leukemia (FeLV) vaccine for if your cat is an outdoor cat or comes into contact with indoor/outdoors cats. At Wrentham Animal Hospital, we use PureVax vaccines which are proven to be the safest choice for our feline friends.

  • Parasite prevention such as flea and tick control, internal parasite deworming and heartworm prevention

  • Diagnostic testing including feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and leukemia testing, heartworm testing, fecal examination to check for intestinal parasites and full blood work and urine testing
